A JAPANESE NETSUKE OF A KITSUNE FOX BY KAZUO MIZUTANI (B.1932)

The fox dressed as an itinerant monk, with a large hood, long robes and a wooden stick, its head turned to dexter and with the eyes inlaid, together with a small bronze fox depicted sitting on its haunches, 7cm and 3.8cm respectively. (2)
Provenance: from the collection of Frank Robertson (d.2014). The fox-priest purchased in Tokyo in 1988 directly from Kazuo Mizutani.
