A JAPANESE SIX-FOLD PAPER SCREEN
MEIJI 1868-1912
Painted in ink and colour on a gold silk ground, with eight Immortals in a mountainous landscape, some in conversation, one holding a shallow bowl from which two small dragons emerge, another with a large gourd slung across his back, one riding a flying crane while reading scriptures, a stream running behind them and the waves crashing against the shore, a five character signature to the left and with a red seal mark, a label for 'Gregg Baker, London, n.520' to the back, 118cm x 327cm approx.
