TWO JAPANESE NABESHIMA DISHES
MEIJI ERA, 19TH CENTURY
Both decorated in underglaze blue and polychrome enamels, one with shaped panels enclosing the shochikubai (pine, prunus and bamboo) on a cracked-ice ground, the other with a fruiting branch of chestnut, both painted underneath with beribboned clusters of cash and raised on a short foot with comb design, with paper collection labels for the Mary & Peter White Collection, both approx. 20.6cm.
