A RARE CHINESE UNDERGLAZE COPPER-RED VASE
QIANLONG 1736-95
The globular body rising from a straight foot to a tall flared rim, painted in rich copper-red with lotus flowers growing from meandering leafy scrolls, all between bands of ruyi-heads, lappets and double underglaze blue lines, 30.5cm.
Provenance: from the collection of Dr Oliver Impey (1936-2005), and Dr Jane (Mellanby) Impey (1938-2021), of Cumnor Place, Oxford.
