TWO SMALL JAPANESE IMARI FIGURES

Both depicted standing with one hand raised to their chest, the man wearing a jacket with voluminous sleeves over his robes, the garments painted in red, black and gilt with flowers and a cross-hatched pattern; the bijin's kimono embellished with prunus flowers, waves and clouds in gilt, red and green enamels, both with gauze marks underneath and the male figure with an illegible black ink inscription to the base; 16.3cm and 16.7cm respectively.
