The baluster bodies decorated in underglaze blue, gilt, iron red, green and black enamels, with shaped panels containing prunus, peonies, and figures observing birds between borders of stylised scrolling leaves and flowers, both covers topped with a fierce shishi on a rocky outcrop, together with an early 20th century black and white photograph of the vases taken by Edward Ellam of 20 Huntriss Row, Scarborough, 61cm max.
