A MINIATURE WOOD NETSUKE OF BENTEN

The diminutive Goddess is depicted standing, wearing long flowing robes and holding a biwa by her side; her hair elegantly tied in a top knot; signed Settei with kakihan, 3.8cm.
Settei was a pupil of Shima Sessai (d.1880), who served the Lord of the Echizen Province.
