A JAPANESE IVORY NETSUKE

EDO/MEIJI PERIOD

Depicting a shishi, the lion dog holding a large ball tightly between its paws, with a large curling mane and finely rendered hair, its head turned to the right and baring its teeth, the eyes inlaid in horn and with traces of staining, unsigned, 3.8cm.

Provenance: An English private collection, Surrey.
