TWO JAPANESE BLUE AND WHITE SETO WARE VASES
20TH CENTURY
One with a bulbous body and a tall neck decorated with wisteria, peonies, hibiscus and leafy branches, inscribed Dai Nippon Seto Kato Shigeju zo, the other with an hexagonal body and a tall cylindrical neck painted with quails, insects and another bird amongst vegetation, also with a Seto mark, 24.5cm max. (2)
Provenance: an English private collection, Hampshire, acquired in the early 20th century.
