A JAPANESE WOVEN BAMBOO KYOTO IKEBANA BASKET, HANAKAGO

The tall square-section body with long vertical strips, tatezashi, rising to a woven neck with a twisted rim, a tall loop handle above, the body strengthened with a double wall and the base with square plating and two strips of bamboo inserted across, haritake, 49cm.
Provenance: a Spanish private collection, Madrid, purchased from La Boutique Japonaise, Geneva, in the 1990s.
