A JAPANESE WOOD INCENSE TRAY, KOBON
TAISHO 1912-1926
Shaped as a large lotus leaf with irregular edges and with a small frog resting to the side, the surface of the wood realistically carved to imitate the leaf's coarseness, unsigned but with a fitted wood tomobako box inscribed mai budo (dancing grapes), Kayoshiki ko bon (incense tray in the shape of a lotus leaf) and to the reverse Takeyama zo (made by Takeyama) and with two seals for Maki Tamihiko and Takeyama, 57cm.
