A MASSIVE JAPANESE BRONZE FIGURE, OKIMONO
MEIJI PERIOD OR LATER, 19TH/20TH CENTURY
Depicting a small ox herder, bokudo, seated on the back of an ox and playing the flute, the large bovine with a tether attached to its nose ring and with its head turned to sinister, 51cm.
Provenance: an English private collection, Dorset.
