EIGHT KNIVES WITH JAPANESE MIXED-METAL KOZUKA HANDLES
EDO AND MEIJI PERIOD, 18TH AND 19TH CENTURY
Each kozuka handle with gold highlights and variously decorated with gods, heroes and mythical beasts, three signed Hamano Naoyuki (1745-1819), another Hamano Noriyuki (1736-1787), the fifth Sekijoken/Akagiken Motozane, possibly for Oyama Motozane (1741-1830), six blades with a square and a rhomboid hallmark, possibly for Jules Piault, 22.5cm max.
