MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
Of rectangular shape, the upper section with two sliding doors, three open shelves underneath with reticulated bands of scrolling tendrils, two further doors beneath and a cupboard to the right, the lower section with two short drawers, the surface decorated in mother of pearl, gold lacquer and ivory inlays depicting birds and flowers, all raised on a four-legged base, 108.5cm. Provenance: an English private collection, Dorset. Purchased in these rooms, 15th November 2012, lot 455.
