A JAPANESE MINIATURE LACQUER TRAVELLING CHEST, HASAMIBAKO
EDO PERIOD, 18TH CENTURY
Of rectangular shape with a lid and an inner tray, the body decorated in roiro-nuri and gold hiramaki-e lacquer with patterns of flowering prunus branches and shippo-tsunagi coins framing mon, with metal mounts chiselled with further patterns of coins and scrolling tendrils, 10.5cm x 9.8cm x 13.8cm.
