A JAPANESE WOOD CARVING OF A MONKEY, OKIMONO

MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY

The primate with inlaid eyes and depicted standing wearing long robes and a Shinto hat with circular medallions inlaid in horn, holding a kagura suzu rattle for the kagura Shinto dance, the base signed Sansho with kakihan, raised on an associated rectangular base, 21.2cm. (2)
