The bulbous body decorated with a continuous design of flowering prunus and chrysanthemum painted in gilt, blue, pink, and red enamels, on three shaped feet with scrolling designs, the lid in white metal with a central chrysanthemum flowerhead and three medallions with flowers, the base stamped with an oblong cartouche reading 'Satuma sshin' under the Shimazu mon, 23cm.
