A Victorian oak writing table by A.W.N. Pugin by Holland & Sons
A Victorian oak writing table by A.W.N. Pugin by Holland & Sons, the moulded edge top inset a writing surface above a pair of frieze drawers fitted with iron loop handles, one drawer stamped 'HOLLAND & SONS', on faceted column supports united by a central chamfered stretcher on castors, 75.3cm high, 122.8cm wide, 82.4cm deep.
From 1847 until his death in 1852 Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin provided designs for the new Palace of Westminster which were carried out by Gillows and Holland & Sons. This table is similar to ones found in the Brougham Room in the House of Lords Library.
