Sormani & Fils, 10 r. Charlot Paris', on fluted tapering legs united by a pierced stretcher

Catalogue Note
Paul Sormani (1817, Venice – 1877, Paris) specialised in reproductions of Louis XIV, XV and XVI furniture and exhibited at exhibitions throughout Europe, being awarded several medals along the way. The business was continued by his son, Paul-Charles, under the name Sormani Veuve Paul et Fils, included patronage from Princess Eugenie, and joined forces Thiebault Freres in 1914 until their last boutique was closed in 1934.
