A picture clock

A picture clock, the striking movement in square plates stamped Guyerdet Aime a Paris, no. 4203; a second rectangular plated striking only movement similarly signed, the circular silvered dial set in a church tower in the foreground a lakeside town scene, the mountainous background with another church at its feet, c.1850, 34 x 41 in (86 x 104cm). The second striking movement sounds a short time after the main church to give the impression of sound travelling across the lake.
