A Victorian carved oak 'Gothic' stick barometer, the ivory dial inscribed 'G.H & C Gowland, Sunderland', with vernier scales above turned adjusters, the stem with a thermometer, 43.25in (110cm) h. Banfield states; C H & C Cowland, Sunderland, 1865-85 and C Gowland, 1851.
