A rare late 17th century English pewter candlestick
A rare late 17th century English pewter candlestick, with a tapering faceted stem and a square base with canted corners, the underside stamped 'T.C.' and a monogram 'TB', 16.3cm high.
By repute this candlestick was found in the River Thames, it bears unusual marks and was probably made by someone not part of the Pewterer's Guild.
