worked with coloured silks on a linen ground, in various stitches, including: cross, long, short, buttonhole bar and satin stitch, with a verse titled 'The Desire' from Thomas Dilworth's 'A New Guide to the English Tongue', above a scene with a house and a church, with trees, birds, sheep and a pond, signed and dated 'Eleanor Barrington ..March 1829, Born 29th March 1818', in a later glazed ebonised frame
