An Italian mahogany and marquetry writing table, inlaid with stringing and ebonised banding, the rectangular top with canted corners and inlaid with fruitwood heightened with penwork, with a central scene of Venus and Cupid, with scrolling leaves, masks and bands of satyrs and classical maidens, with a divided frieze drawer, on square tapering legs, probably Lombardi, early 19th century, 77.5cm high, 95cm wide, 71.5cm deep.
