A child's school desk later painted by Sir John Verney (1913-1993), the top depicting the three (dis) graces playing croquet being watched by elderly gentleman, the interior with the same three ladies accosting the onlookers, the rest painted with trailing ivy and flowers, the seat with a pair of male hands, signed 'Verney', 35½in (90cm) high, 32in (81.5cm) wide.
