The design for the present lot was published by Morgan & Sanders, c.1810. See P. Agius, 'Ackermann's Regency Furniture & Interiors', pl.29, p.60. According to Ackermann, the chair was a 'truly novel and useful article....considered the best and handsomest article ever yet invented'.
