Catalogue Note
The crest with a Bishop’s mitre is that of Newcome. William Newcome (1729-1800) was an Englishman and cleric of the Church of Ireland. Between 1766 and 1800 he was appointed to the Bishoprics of Dromore, Ossory, Waterford and Lismore and finally to the Primatial See of Armagh.
