the brass eight day repeating movement with eight knopped pillars and anchor escapement chiming on a nest of eight bells and striking on a ninth bell, the brass dial with a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hours and Arabic minutes, with a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture and plaque inscribed 'Robert & Peter Higgs / London' on a matted centre, with foliate spandrels, beneath an arch with a 'Tocar Silencio' (Strike Silent) dial, the hood with gilt metal urn finials, a pagoda top with reticulated gilt metal grilles above an arched door flanked by brass inlaid, stop fluted columns and brass, fish scale grilles to the sides, on a body with an arched door decorated in low relief with a Chinoiserie lake scene with sailing boats before a bridge to an island with a pagoda with figures, trees and buildings beyond, flanked by brass inlaid stop fluted quarter columns, a panelled base with similar stop fluted quarter columns and scrolling foot, with keys, weights and pendulum
