the deep indigo field with columns of stylized flowerheads and latch hook medallions surrounded by tribal and zoomorphic motifs enclosed by ivory compartmentalised borders of geometric and stylized flowerheads flanked by barber poles and guard stripes, retained damaged kilims at both ends

Field Marshal Earl Kitchener of Khartoum (1850-1916) and thence by descent.
Kilims damaged. Selvedges original but with damaged areas. Pile is low and worn in areas. Several holes.
