The Continental furniture section has some very interesting pieces, highlights include a Louis XV giltwood console table after a design by Nicholas Pineau (lot327), a French Restauration Boulle marquetry and ebony centre table (lot 325) with a fabulous marquetry top in the manner of Gilles-Marie Oppenordt and a rare pair of Russian malachite and gilt bronze candelabra (lot 340).
Leading the Regency furniture is a rare amboyna and brass marquetry library table attributed to George Bullock (lot 400). The top is inlaid with trefoiled sprigs which can be seen on other pieces of furniture made by Bullock for notable patrons including the Duke of Buccleuch.
The sale will include a small collection of Campaign furniture including a rare dining table by Charles Stewart of London (lot 411). When fully dismantled with the legs stowed away inside the body, it measures only 6in in height!
We conclude the sale with carpets and rugs including Heriz, Amritsar and Ziegler examples.
