Even earlier in date is lot 305, a rare Fars engraved brass bowl which dates to the 14th century. Lot 237 is a rare early 18th century wax bust of King James II carved in the manner of David Le Marchand. Highlights from the furniture section include: a writing desk by François Linke, a very good George II Irish chair and our front cover piece, a large and impressive early 19th century giltwood overmantel mirror beautifully carved with plumes of feathers and lion’s masks. The sale also features collections of walking canes and model boats.
