the brass eight day twin fusee movement with an anchor escapement and repeat mechanism, striking on a bell, the backplate with engraved scrolling foliage, the brass dial with a silvered chapter ring and black Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, the matted centre with a date aperture and silvered cartouche inscribed 'Thos Morton LONDON', inside foliate spandrels and beneath the arch with an automaton of a young couple riding a see-saw before a harbour scene, the ebonised case with a caddy top, brass swing handle with an arched glazed front and back doors, with glass side panels, with a brass pendulum
