A mid-Victorian embroidered needlework heraldic table carpet, worked with fifteen coats of arms, the main arms for Cresswell Augustus Cresswell marrying Charlotte Gough Calthorpe, with shields also for the Fry (chocolate) family impaling Gurney, Mrs Fry being the prison reformer, their daughter married Francis Cresswell, other arms relate to Lady Charlotte Somerset and Baron Calthorpe, Oswin Baker and Anne Gordon Cummig, Cresswell impaling Lumley, the quarters of Calthorpe, the quarters of Gough and France/ England imapling Leon/Castile, for Edward I (as Prince of Wales) married 1st, Eleanor of Castile, the central cartouche hung with leaves, 124 x 94.5cm.
