French revolution interest. A late 18th century French painted tortoiseshell snuff box, the hinged lid decorated with scenes from the demonstration of 20th June 1792, depicting Louis XVI with an angry mob holding placards, inscribed 'VIVE SANS CULOTTES

', within a beaded border and the date '20 Juin 1792', with gilt metal rope-twist mounts, the body decorated with battle scenes, the base with war trophies and a scroll titled 'DROIT DE L'HOMME', 8.6cm wide.
