λ A pair of French Dieppe ivory figures of Flora and Prudence, each carved in the form of a scantily clad maiden, one fondling her necklace whilst gazing into a mirror, the other holding and smelling roses, each on a verde antico marble base (slight differences), late 19th / early 20th century, the figures: 23.2cm high, overall: 27.4cm high. Provenance: Purchased by a relative of the vendor's from Isaac Marks Antiques, 94 Grey Street, Newcastle on Tyne, 12th February 1930 for £25 as a pair of ivory figures by Albert Toft. A copy of the original receipt is available.
