λ An 18th century Anglo-Indian tortoiseshell and ivory box, decorated all over with scrolling leaves and flowers highlighted with incised lac, with circular and one oblong tortoiseshell rondels, the hinged lid revealing a sandalwood interior with one compartment, with silver side carrying handles, hinges and escutcheon, Vizagapatam c.1740-50, 10.1cm high, 28.3cm wide, 20.5cm deep.
