An early Victorian needlework sampler by Sarah Harwood, worked with alphabets, birds, urns of flowers, roses and floral sprays, with a religious verse 'Whose adorning let it not be outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel...' from the King James Bible, Peter 3:3-4, with a running band of flowers, signed and dated 'Sarah Harwood Eastwood School 1845', 35.3 x 39.2cm, in a glazed bird's eye maple frame.
