ATTRIBUTED TO YONG RONG (QING DYNASTY)
LANDSCAPE OF PENG LAI ISLAND
A Chinese scroll painting, ink and colour on paper, inscribed, dated the xin si year and signed Huang Liu Zi (the sixth son) with two artist's seals, 102cm x 44.5cm.
Provenance: an English private collection, acquired in the 1960s.
Yong Rong was the sixth son of the Qianlong Emperor, then he was adopted into the lineage of his great uncle Yun Xi as Xi's Grandson. Yong Rong was a poet and painter with knowledge of astronomy and mathematics, he was best known as one of the general editors of the grand book Si Ku Quan Shu.
款識:仙人源自愛蓬萊,瑤草金芝次第開,欸乃櫂歌青雀舫,逍遙響屧鳳皇臺。辛巳仲冬,皇六子。
鈐印:質王之印、永瑢。
