A good Staffordshire Toby jug c.1790, after Ralph Wood, modelled seated and with a foaming jug of ale resting on his left knee, wearing a blue waistcoat and yellow breeches beneath a coat mottled in blue, green, yellow and manganese, his face decorated with large blue spots, incised X to the underside, 23.8cm.
