A Meissen cup and saucer c.1740, finely painted with panels of figures standing and on horseback beside stately buildings in European landscapes, reserved within elaborate gilt borders of scallop shells and scrollwork on a gold ground, with scattered flowers and insects to the cup's exterior and saucer's underside, blue crossed swords marks, some faults, 13.3cm max.
