A pair of Spode plates c.1830, each painted with a landscape within a gilt scroll border, titled 'Doune Castle, Perthshire' and 'St John's College', a Copeland painted with cattle by a lake within a turquoise border with gilt floral swags, another with a view of Ponte Rotto in Rome after Finden's Illustrations to the Works of Lord Byron, 24cm max. (4)
Provenance: Alfred Gresham Copeland, Robert Copeland (1925-2010), and thence by descent.
Exhibited: Spode Bicentenary Exhibition, Royal Academy, 1970 - the Ponte Rotto plate.
