A Richard Chaffers (Liverpool) blue and white teabowl and saucer, dated 1766, painted with a small bird perched on a branch of flowering peony, inscribed 'W.S 1766' to the saucer and teabowl's interior, both cracked, a large chip to the teabowl, 13.7cm. (2)

Provenance: the David and Jan Birley Collection.

Exhibited: Northern Ceramic Circle, Liverpool 1993, no. 118; and English Ceramic Circle, 2009.
