A rare Worcester blue and white tripod salt
A rare Worcester blue and white tripod salt, c.1765-70, of squat circular form in the Chinese manner, painted with a wide 'bubble' border, the interior with a single flower, raised on three scroll feet, open crescent mark, a 2.7cm rim crack, 7.3cm dia.
The border is that used for the Scalloped Peony pattern. Cf. John Sandon, Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain, p.148 for a waster of this shape.
