A rare Chinese Swatow-type tripod incense burner, decorated in white slip with flowers, foliage and insects on an iridescent café au lait ground, Wanli c.1600-1610, old paper collection label inscribed, 'rare old brown & white dish for flowers, Japanese, 24/-' 14.5cm.
