A RARE CHINESE DOUCAI DOUBLE WATER POT AND COVER
YONGZHENG 1723-35

Moulded in the form of a figure of eight, the cover delicately painted with two shou characters, which are encircled by five bats and with a narrow border of the Three Friends of Winter, pine, prunus and bamboo; the body with rounded sides, painted with four stylised, scrolling motifs between spearhead borders, together with a wood stand, 10 cm. (3)

Provenance: purchased from Sotheby's New York, 30th March 2006, part of lot 370.
