AN UNUSUAL CHINESE POTTERY CYLINDRICAL CRICKET BOX AND COVER
SEVEN CHARACTER XIANFENG MARK DATED 1854

The sides stamped with tigers and panels of calligraphy stating in doggerel that using this pot will imbue your cricket with extra strength and powers, the cover with a further tiger and a metal handle, together with a black pottery fan-shaped cricket trap and cover with a frog finial and an impressed mark for Zhao Ziyu, 12.5cm.
