A good Chinese silver filigree card case 19th century, one side with applied decoration of snakes on a ground of leaves, the reverse with flowers and foliage, contained in an original brocaded box with a trade label which reads 'Khechoung Gold and Silver Smith, No. 2 China Street', 9.3cm. (2) Cf. Silver and Carving of the Old China Trade, pp.86-7, for an almost identical card case, also preserved in original box with Khechoung's paper label.
