A TIBETAN GILT-COPPER THRONE

18TH/19TH CENTURY

With an elaborate repoussé mandorla, decorated with scrolls, apsara, mythical figures, elephants and minor deities surrounding the central niche, the rectangular base inset with turquoise and decorated with borders of key fret, lappets and formal leaves, with a pair of snow lion supports, the reverse with an inscription, 43cm, 2.2kg.
