A CHINESE SILVER 'DRAGON' BOWL

2ND HALF 19TH CENTURY

The deep body decorated in relief with four sinuous dragons amongst swirling clouds, two of the beasts depicted contesting a large pearl, another grasps a flaming jewel in its claws whilst the fourth expels a stream of water from its mouth, all set against a matted ground and raised on a short spread foot, the base with the punch marks Bao Feng and 'WS' for Woshing, Shanghai, 22.7cm, 858g.
