A JAPANESE NABESHIMA POLYCHROME DISH
EDO PERIOD, LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY

The well brightly decorated in underglaze blue and yellow, cyan and orange overglaze enamels, the cavetto with a formal band of scrolling tendrils and five sixteen-petalled chrysanthemum flowerheads, the reverse with three clusters of shippo-tsunagi (beribboned cash), 20.5cm.
